FOTINOS TSAKOPOULOS WAS BORN IN ATHENS, GREECE, 

and grew up in Germany. Being strongly impressed by Jazz-Music, he starts taking saxophone-lessons as a teenager. He later enters Medical School in Jena, Germany, but his urge for music is stronger! 
 

He decides to become a professional saxophonist and enrolls in the Jazz-department of the ATHENAEUM-Conservatory in Athens, graduating in 2008.

He has been active in the music scene of Athens since 2005 playing with various bands and has also been teaching privately and in music schools. He has participated twice in the International Jazz Workshop "SIENA JAZZ" in Italy,

being awarded a scholarship. In 2011 he took part in the ATHENS FESTIVAL,  playing for a contemporary dance group.

He lives and works on the island of Santorini, Greece, since 2009, where he performs with various bands but also as a solo artist on numerous weddings and other social occasions.

Being profoundly attracted by the musical traditions of other parts of the world

- especially Africa - he found himself in the african archipelago of Cabo Verde where he spent the winters 2019 & 2020. There he was performing with local bands but also solo for world-renowned hotel groups and at various private & public events.
